About Us

Welcome to the SW19 WI Branch of the Women’s Institute – we are based in Wimbledon Village and belong to the Surrey Federation of Women’s Institutes.

We provide an important forum for local women to meet on a social basis, to debate national issues of concern to women, and to raise funds for charities for the benefit of women. This year we are raising funds for St Raphael’s Hospice. We have almost a hundred members of all ages, with many interests – creating a vibrant and inspiring branch.

We are delighted that you are visiting our website and would be really pleased to meet you in person at one of our events. We meet monthly at 7.30pm usually on the second Friday of the month in the Wimbledon Village Club Hall, Lingfield Road (just off the Ridgway). We have a number of Social Clubs – including Arts Club, Book Club, Knit’d & Knot’d, Cycling Club, Film Club, Supper Club and Walking Club.

Regular outings are arranged to exhibitions, the theatre and ballet, as well as a wide range of places of interest. We invite an eclectic mix of speakers to educate, amuse and inspire us on many varied topics – and get involved in fun activities such as mindfulness and self-defence.

The branch is open to new members and we would love to hear from you if you are interested in joining.
